The History of Psi Alpha Chapter
On November 1, 2024, Psi Alpha Chapter proudly commemorates 84 years of dedicated service to the vibrant community of the Alamo City. What began as a modest endeavor has blossomed into a thriving chapter boasting nearly 300 esteemed financial members.
Our journey traces back to 1940 when eight visionary individuals with unique professional backgrounds came together to establish the Psi Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. These trailblazers, hailing from diverse locales, including San Antonio, Texas, and beyond, were united by their shared commitment to excellence and service.
Among our founding members were distinguished figures such as Dr. William Virgil Hurd, a veteran of World War I, and Valmo Bellinger, a respected businessman and editor. Together, these pioneering spirits laid the foundation for a chapter deeply rooted in the values of scholarship, brotherhood, and community upliftment.
Psi Alpha Chapter stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of those visionary men who paved the way for generations to come. As we reflect on our storied history, we reaffirm our dedication to serving the needs of our beloved Alamo City and beyond.
Join us as we honor our past, celebrate our present, and embrace the limitless possibilities of our future. Long Live the Alamo City Ques!
